5. Ciao Carb: Like Carba-Nada, there are still plenty of carbs in this pasta, but fewer than traditional pasta, at 17 grams per serving after subtracting the fiber. Made with a variety of soy, gluten, wheat, and egg, in my opinion these don’t come anywhere near the wholesomeness of the bean pasta varieties at the top of this list. But if you’re looking for something that looks like pasta and tastes like pasta, without quite as much carby-boom, this will do it for you!

I just found your site a few days ago. I’d like to try to go low carb (at least some of the time, as I want to start off slow and not change everything at once). How strong is the almond flavor? How strong is the coconut flavor? I don’t mind purchasing each and trying (but if I did that, I’d want the smallest available size available), but I’m not asking for myself, as I don’t mind (I love almonds and coconut, so neither bother me lol). There are people n my household that can’t have/don’t like almonds/the taste of almonds and they don’t like strong, strong coconut flavor. I thought I’d make a list and try to get some things delivered some time this week, so I can try out a snack or dinner (my biggest downfalls, ie lots of pasta). I’d like to keep all ingredients under $20-30, which I know may be hard, as I’ve seen some places where just the flavor can be that much. 🙁

Made them tonight. I thought I messed them up since they looked eggy but really they turned out great. I can’t do gluten so I tried the xanthum and I also added some garlic powder to the mix for taste.i think I cooked for 7 minutes total.we actually sliced them into little squares and threw them into homemade chicken noodle soup. It tasted close to dumpling style noodles. Not slick/chewy but very good. My 14 year old T1 loved them and wants me to make more. Overall it absolutely loved these. If you grew up in Canada like I did, you probably spent a large portion of your formative years eating Quaker Harvest Crunch for breakfast. I was never that much of a cereal fan, but a bowl of that granola from the orange box was always welcome. In fact, I was happy to eat it any time…breakfast, lunch or dinner. I put some pecan pieces in hoping they would form some clumps with the nuts, but it didn’t really help. I’m wondering if a thicker liquid would make a difference. Perhaps Sukrin gold syrup instead of coconut oil and sweetener? Could maybe add some maple flavoring to it. You might not be able to find Sukrin in the UK, but it is accessible through Amazon. Would maybe some of your followers from the US have an opinion about this?

Another difference between older and newer studies is that the type of patients treated with the ketogenic diet has changed over time. When first developed and used, the ketogenic diet was not a treatment of last resort; in contrast, the children in modern studies have already tried and failed a number of anticonvulsant drugs, so may be assumed to have more difficult-to-treat epilepsy. Early and modern studies also differ because the treatment protocol has changed. I tried the original recipe and was impressed. I tweaked the recipe to create a slightly sweet, nuttier profile. Instead of 2 cups almond flour, I used 1 cup almond flour with 1 cup almond meal. Instead of 1/4 coconut oil, I used 1/4 cup unsalted butter. I reduced the psyllium husk powder to 3 level tablespoons. I also added 2 tablespoons regular molasses stirred into the warm water. The molasses has 32 grams of sugar total, but when you divided by 16 slices it only adds 2 grams of carbs per slice. Thanks for a great bread. I look forward to more great recipes!

I was a vread and sweet person as well. Once you start you will not believe that you don’t crave those things. It was not hard as I thought but what helped with the lack of cravings is starting my day with the coffee, ghee and tablespoon of coconut/mct oil. I don’t do heavey cream . This is REALLY good. My OH also thought that this was ‘proper’ bread LOL! Why do people think that anything not made with wheat is not ‘proper’? I guess they don’t have a gluten intolerance. This really is the best low carb GF bread I’ve tasted in a LONG while. It will become a staple in this household that’s for sure. If no food processor is at hand, you can also do it by hand (it just takes a little more time and arm muscle!). Add all the dry ingredients to a large bowl and whisk until thoroughly combined. Pour in vinegar and whisk until thoroughly distributed. Pour in egg while whisking vigorously and keep whisking until the dough becomes too stiff to whisk.
